3^rd Joint Meeting: International MRI Conference & Workshop

New Horizons in MR

The meeting, held on 24^th September 2000, Sunday, was jointly organized by the Hong Kong College of Radiologists and the European-Chinese Society for Clinical Magnetic Resonance. This year, for the first time, the venue chosen for the event was the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine Jockey Club Building.

After the Opening Ceremony at 8:30am, renowned MR specialists from Europe delivered plenary lectures, focussing on the recent developments in MRI:

In the afternoon, workshops were conducted on Body MR and MRA, Cardiac MR, Clinical MR Spectroscopy, and Diffusion and Perfusion Imaging, arranged in consecutive parallel sessions.

There were 114 registrants for the meeting, including 10 from Macau. The general feedback was that the topics were new and focused.

The major sponsor of the event was Nycomed-Amersham. Other sponsors included General Electric, Philips, Siemens, and Bruker Medical. We would like to thank them for their support of radiology training and educational activities in Hong Kong.
