Clinical History:
30-year-old male with Down¡¦s syndrome. Presented with a episodes of convulsions. No fever.
Diagnosis:
Eagle's syndrome
Discussion:
Lateral cervical spine plain radiograph reveals elongated styloid processes. The clinical and radiographic features are suggestive of Eagle's syndrome. Styloidectomy may be the only treatment that will alleviate the symptoms of the patient if conservative management fails or if symptoms are persistent and severe.
